Psiconv: other tooling

File documentation

  • Psion series 3 documentation
This site contains lots of information on Epoc16 (Psion series 3) file formats. They are completely different from the Epoc32 file formats described on my site.

Transfering files

  • Psion link protocol
Documentation about the Psion Link Protocol used to access EPOC files and for synchronization.
  • plptools
This is probably the best available package to transfer files from and to your Psion. It uses the built-in Psion connection protocol, so you do not need any support on the Psion side. You can use the included FTP client to transfer files, or you can mount the contents of your Psion as just another filesystem. It kind of unites the functionality of p3nfsd and plp, and is heavily based on those packages (but you don't need them to run plptools).
  • p3nfs
This package makes it possible to mount the contents of your Psion disks as just another filesystem. It uses its own protocol to transfer files, so you need to run a special program on your Psion to do this.

No longer available

  • plp (http://www.proudman51.freeserve.co.uk/psion/index.html)
This package implements a FTP client which uses the built-in Psion connection protocol to transfer files from and to your Psion. You do not need any support on the Psion side.
  • psi2latex (http://website.lineone.net/~j.ottaway/psi2latex.html)
Based upon psiconv, this program translates Psion 5 files into LaTeX.
  • PsiLin (http://www.medsyn.fr/perso/g.delafond/
This program tries to be a graphical frontend to several of the utilties mentioned above. I do not know too much of it otherwise.
